I went there to buy my daughter a curious george movie on sale,i wait for the cashier to give me my 6.00$ of chamge back closes the drawer gives me my movie no change so i ask to see the manager so sje goes to count the drawer says the drawer is correct and sorry i dont know what to tell you wtf you mean i dont appreciate the horrible service apparently some people need to go back to school and nees to learn how to correctly count

Sends Wrong Products, Impossible to Refund

I had ordered a few CDs from the FYE website, and they arrived in multiple packages. The first package was okay, but the second contained DVDs that I never ordered.

The DVDs had been sent an affiliate of theirs (Wherehouse), and therefore had a different order number and could not be refunded through FYE. Because I had never actually ordered anything directly from Wherehouse, they didn't have any order record for me on file.

So now I'm stuck with a DVD I never ordered, and I can't get a refund for the CD that never arrived. This company should be investigated for their online shipping practices, because something is very wrong about the way they're running things.

Mislead about VIP Pass. DO NOT GET

Okay I had never shopped at FYE until last Monday. After waiting fifteen minutes, I had to go to the back of the store to grab someone who was working the floor to help me check out. The man was nice and after he scanned my movie he asked me if I wanted the VIP backstage pass. He told me that it would allow me to get 10% off every purchase and it was free. I said "are you sure? its free?" and he said "yes it's free, so why not". So I said sure. Later that night, THANKFULLY, I read over my receipt only to find a message saying I would be charged $11.99 a month. This is ridiculous especially because I asked the man again to make sure it was free. So I called customer care who said my account won't pop up in their system until two more days. I called back two days later. After requesting to cancel my card, the representative went on for about 5 minutes on a different cheaper option and that I would only have to pay $5 a month. I asked him " so can I cancel my card or no?". He replied with some anger, " well I don't understand why you would sign up for this card if you were only going to cancel two days later". I said, increasingly frustrated ," well I don't understand why I was misinformed and lied to that this card would be completely free and I would get 10% off every time I use it". After a bit longer of the representative talking about different options, he finally started to cancel my card. He even gave me a cancelation number. Later that day I got an email saying my card was now active and I should visit the website. I can't call customer care now because they are not open of the weekend.

What made the situation worse is that my mom saw my VIP card on my desk and accidentally used it today. The card was suppose to be deactivated but for some reason it worked. I am utterly frustrated with this store and will never buy anything thing hear again. Looking at the other complaints I see this is a common thing.

I recommend that if someone buys from here, pay with cash. I am extremely disappointed with this store and its employees. I need this fixed now.

DO NOT SHOP HERE. YOU WILL NOT BE INFORMED OF CREDIT CARD CHARGES AND WILL BE LIED TO ABOUT "FREE" CARDS.

I made my first purchase online from this company last night. When I attempted to check out I was told the payment could not be accepted due to "verification purposes", but that I "may still be charged-with a downgrade-because a auth code had been received." Basically, they received the authorization to charge me but didn't apply it to my order; I have no idea what the "downgrade" bit was about. I should have stopped right there, but since I receive immediate text alerts for charges I assumed they were being honest. I waited a while and was immediately sent a confirmation email and order #. This morning I woke up to find text confirmation that both attempts to pay had been accepted, but FYE never still showed one order and never acknowledged the 1st successful charge. As if that wasn't enough, I called my credit card company and was told I had actually been charged THREE times. Twice when they claimed my # didn't work and again when they gave me confirmation of my order. They do not offer phone support and do not provide you with tracking information. This is one very shady company, do NOT give them your information.

I'm going through this hassle with this company, I called to cancel and they refused even though the 11.99 payment was unauthorized!! I called my bank immediately to dispute it ..I have to get a new card and all! On top of that I cancelled the magazine subscription (which were fairly easy, they were very cooperative) FYE SUCKS! I wasn't happy with the product or the service.

I am going too be boycotting this store for an while. one of the most, meanest and rudest managers, first name J. last name U. This manager should be fired. This manager shouldn't be be an manager. First the manager complains about the fact im not wanting the backstage pass. Then the manager raised the voice onto hounding me too get one. Then i called the store, and complained about the manager. The manager was told what happened. Then the manager raised the voice for the fact i called onto j. u. This manager is very mean/rude too all of the customers.

I am never ever going too shop at this store again. I am asking the managers too stopped asking me about the backstage pass too the store. The manager mike and john refused and declined. Then I am screamed an shouted at the manager john for not knowing about the dvd sale into the front of other customers who did not know too. These mangers don't care about their customers and covering their ***. they said the backstage pass keeps is the only reason that their business. they lost me as a customer too this store, I am done with the mean and rudeness

No company should put pressure onto any employee or manager or customer that does not want the backstage pass. I am an customer of theirs and seen the customers, the employees and the managers get treated like trash and garbage because of this.

Also, I've heard of people being signed up for something without knowing and I'd like to make sure I am not. I don't want ANYONE messing with my credit card account.

I went in to FYE to buy a few CD's and they ended up basically forcing me to sign up for a magazine subscription which I didn't exactly understand. I was wondering if anyone know how to cancel this because I don't want to be charged and I'm going to be extremely pissed if they remove money without my permission.

Also, when I went to the cancellation website, it is not recognizing the information that I gave the female cashier. I want it cancelled before I get screwed over.

I'm never going there again. Can anyone give me any advice?

So, as a former fye employee let me shed some light on this situation. I can say that without a shadow of a doubt that every fye employee hated having to pitch magazines.

We had driver's (add ons) that we had to pitch to everybody who hit a certain requirement and couldn't use questions that ended in yes or no. We had to do this because we had to have a certain conversion rate for the week and month to hit or else 3 strikes and you're out. They didn't give us much of a choice. So, I tried to make the best of it by helping out the customer as much as possible That being said, I hate going into other fye stores and seeing employees who didn't explain anything.

The store I worked at (Fox Valley FYE. Aurora, IL) had some of the most informed staff. And while we didn't always catch it when a newbie missed some information. We would go every single detail with the customer.

*** I even would go over it twice and ask if the customer knew what was going on AND I would tell them how to get around the system. You get 1-3 magazines for 2 months for free (this was the standard deal, it changed once and then went back then entire 5 years I was there) after the 2 months the card you paid with on that transaction would get charged the renewal fee. There should be (don't know if there still is) a month grace period where if you were charged you'd get that money renewed upon cancelling. We were to the give the customer the pamphlet with the cancellation options and show them where they were.

Personally, I'd circle them a billion times to show them were it was. If they had any more questions then they call the store and ask so we can try and help them. Once, a customer wants to cancel the subscription then the company that deals with that has nothing to do with us. Which is *** because they then make the employees look bad due to their lack of assistance.

I'm sorry people are having an awful experience with this. That magazine company makes fye look bad.

I had the same experience. Basically an employee FORCED me to sign up and when she got me to said “yes got another one”.

I immediately contacted them to cancel and they confirmed my cancellation but here I am 2 months later being CHARGED for something I simply can’t afford.

I feel scammed and am thinking about contacting the BBB. I don’t make a lot of money at 19 and when I cancelled that should have resolved the issue.

I just had this same issue and you can bet I will never shop at FYE again. They never told me they were signing me up for a subscriptions, they just told me I had to pick a magazine to get one free copy of.

There was a long line and my vision is bad so I couldn't fully read the fine print of what I was signing up for and they basically scammed me. I had to call about 6 different numbers to try to get ahold of someone who could help me. The number to call for the magazines is 1-87*-***-****. You can try to use the automated messages to cancel your subscription (It will try to convince you to keep your subscription for a cheaper offer or extend the refund date.

Say no unless you actually want the magazines. Make sure you decline to keep receiving the magazines you already paid for so that you can get refunded) or you can press 0 to get to a live representative.

The representative from the magazine company was actually very helpful but everyone I spoke to trying to get to them before that couldn't help me at all. FYE is a garbage company who tries to trick people out of their money.

You can go through the automation for the first two, but the last magazine will have you transferred to a representative, at least if you do them all at once.

They didn't give me a cancellation website all they gave me was a phone number. I cancelled my order then beginning of this month I got charged. I also never got a cancellation confirmation number and I need that to dispute the charge.

My First and Last Movie Purchase At FYE

I went to the FYE store at the mall a couple weeks ago and bought a season of Doctor Who. The clerk was complaining about her job, so I figured something was up.

I got home and was going to watch the DVD, but when I opened the case, there was NO DVD! I went right back to the store and talked to the manager. The manager was so rude and he was doing nothing but making phone calls the whole time I was trying to talk to him. I eventually got sick of it and just walked out of the back room, which is right when I noticed that he stopped calling people.

A person that was looking for a job went to the back room a minute later, which is exactly when he started talking on the phone all over again! There is no way I am EVER going back to that store!

Every time into the location, where i am at, some of the employees don't give an crap. They are have been so many times dealing with the mean and nasty employees with the attitudes.

It's the employees job to sell the backstage pass and offer to every customer. It benefits each and every customer by giving them ten percent off, it's their job. They are doing nothing wrong by asking.

Credit Card Charge Review

Don't go to fye people. They will put you in a VIP club without consent and charge your credit card 11.99 a month and will not cancel it. I have written 2 emails and called twice. I always get a reply saying someone will contact you shortly. If you look on Google under fye backstage you will see a lot of people with the same problem. Don't go if you value your money!

Damaging trade in dvds

On 2/21 I went to the Waterbury fye hoping to exchange around 14 dvds in hopes of getting a season of breaking bad for free. When I left my house I inspected each and every DVD,each having very minimal wear,then again,I've bought dvds there with far more damage.I went to the counter and a girl began to check my dvds. She checked 2 when a man came up and said he'd check them. I turned my back to talk to my friend,when I turned back he was giving me back 12 of the 14 back,telling me they were far too damaged. I chose not to raise a fuss and left. When I got home I checked my dvds and they were scratched beyond repair,one was even snapped. Normally I'd think I just didn't do a decent job checking them,but the man who checked my dvds was also the same person who checked some other dvds I tried to trade in a few years ago. He took them to the back and came back with them scratched like these disks as well. I spoke to the district manager Dave,asking for reimbursement of the trade in price,a measly $20,though I spent around $20 on each dvd. I was told no and to never go into the store again,with the threat of being arrested. I'd been a loyal customer for over 10 years and have probably spent thousands there,but in the last 2 weeks fye has treated me like trash

I haven't left a thing out. I spoke to my friend the whole time my dvds were being checked. I might be a bit at fault for not watching him the whole time,but that's it.

So in the few seconds it took to speak to your friend he purposely damaged 12 DVD's? BS.

Why would he do that if all he had to do was refuse to accept them? You are leaving something out.
